I bought this 3 step kit over the winter with plans to polish a couple of my cars this spring. Mid week my wife told me that a cat had scratch the boot lid on her black Jaguar - it looked pretty bad, but it gave me a chance to test these products on a real problem area.
First, I cleaned the car including removing some stubborn surface contaminants with a clay bar. Next I used these polishes progressively to address the issue.
1. Using the 1000 with a yellow Chemical Guys Hex Logic pad, I only made a few passes in the most damaged area, medium speed and light pressure.
2. I then moved on to use an orange Hex Logic pad on the entire panel, again only a few passes with two or three extra passes where I previously had used the 1000, feathering the extra passes slightly beyond. Again, this was medium speed and light pressure.
3. Finally I used the 3500 all over with a green CCS pad. I made a couple of low speed passes (setting 3 on my old Porter Cable I bought fron eShine.ca back in 2013), and then gradually moved to speed setting 6 for the final two passes easing off to very light pressure.
I had assumed when I wiped it off with my micro fiber towel I would see what still needed attention and continue working to remove the marks however it was done! No swirls, easy to use, and reasonably easy to clean up. Very pleased with the product, worth every penny and more.
