I can't get too excited over a foam pad, but what I can tell you is that, IMHO, you can't beat Lake Country pads - they work extremely well, and they last forever. I have pads that are 5+ years old and I've never had one fail - no ripping, tearing, balling up, or disintegrating. Plus, more importantly, they do an excellent job. I use the orange pad for the "cutting" step (using Meguiars Mirror Glaze 105 and a Porter-Cable 7424XP) and you can see surfaces scratches disappear before your very eyes. A speed of 5 on the Porter-Cable is recommended for beginners, but I run mine on 6 during the cutting step and the results are very impressive. After a particularly harsh winter last year, I had lots of snowbrush marks on my hood, and the combination of Lake Country orange pad, Meguiars Mirror Glaze 105 and the Porter-Cable 7424XP got rid of them all. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
